WiseMonkeyRecords supply purpose-composed and library music from world-class recording artists in a broad range of styles - from classical to hip-hop to death metal and everything in between.
The Challenge
WiseMonkeyRecords had an already developed website constructed in Macromedia Flash, with basic functionality and features. WiseMonkeyRecords initially approached Blank Motion Studios to optimize the videos featured on the site however after much discussion a number of new concepts were brainstormed for the site. These new concepts included the following:
• An mp3 player for playing the music in the library as well as general ambiance for the website
• A news system to allow posting of relevant news and creating HTML content for search engines to crawl.
• A 'send-to-a-friend' option that allowed the user to view a movie on the site then send that movie to a friend with a brief description of the movie
The Solution
Blank Motion Studios took the new concepts and developed functional solutions for them. An mp3 player was developed in Flash that allowed for live streaming of music to the user. The mp3 player also featured 2 modes - full view mode and 'micro' mode, allowing for a smaller player to be shown on the main site without requiring the same amount of space as the full view player. A news system was developed in conjunction with a content management system to allow for easy management of the news for the website. The existing Flash website was also optimized for quicker loading and the 'send to a friend' feature created, allowing the website to be quickly spread amongst a user's friends.

Corporate Coffee Solutions (CCS) specalise in selling automatic espresso machines and water filtration systems to offices, ranging from 10 to 1000 staff. CCS was established in 2003 and has since grown to become one of Melbourne's premier coffee machine sellers. They will soon be expanding their business and offer the capability to service nationally. CCS has also begin to offer coffee and tea products to their clientele. The Challenge
CCS's primary business focus was selling automatic espresso machines through an online catalogue. CCS's obviously wanted to promote their product, but they also wanted to create a strong feel for the company on the website. They also wanted to have the ability to create and customise each page to best present the information for that page. As CCS was a newly formed company, a corporate identity was also required. A later challenge presented by CCS was to implement an ordering system so that customers could order their coffee products online.
The Solution
Blank Motion Studios, after discussion with CCS, opted not to implement a content management system for this site, so that each page could be custom built to match CCS's requirements. A database solution was implemented to manage the products however Blank Motion maintained this. CCS's corporate identity was developed to portray the company's primary business at a quick glance, and the website was developed around the design and colours used in the identity. The CCS homepage is constantly changing as new information and features are added to the website. An online ordering form was also developed to allow customers to order coffee/tea products online, with transactions being completed over the phone by a CCS employee after the order is submitted.
Some of the CCS website's key features include:
A survey that finds the best machine for the users requirements and allows the user to request a demonstration of the machine.
Rental calculator that displays the rental price for each machine based on its rental length
An easy to use online ordering system that allows customers to select how much of each product they require from a dropdown menu, and displaying the total cost as a new item is selected. Also calculates freight for the item based on the total cost of the order.
