Flash is a great tool for developing rich multimedia websites. Its possible to do simple animation, complex drag and drop shopping carts or stream video live from the web. However this is only possible with Flash Programming. Flash utilises a scripting language called Actionscript, which is very similar to javascript (another scripting language) yet immensely more powerful when combined with the media options avaliable throught Flash. Actionscript also allows Flash to communicate with a database, such as mySQL, to allow dynamic content to be shown instantly throught your online application or website.
